The Low End on SSL is an unbitble man and more 3D (listen to the snare revrb) Nice demo thou...with stam you can get great records!

The SSL is good for mix bus it has a tad less bass and it makes it all sound cleaner and tighter the VLA has a bit more bass in it and I would use it more for individual instruments but in general they both sound very very close and good.

I'm the only one who prefers ssl. 😅

Excellent video! I have the VLA II and need to learn how to use it on my mix bus. I'm really not sure just how to connect it to My Cubase DAW. I'm using a Presonus StudioLive series 3 mixer as my interface so I think I have enough routing capabilities, I'm just not quite sure exactly how to do it. It might just be time to get a patch bay. If you can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

VLA is a bit darker, no? I have the VLA and a G Comp clone...never shot them out. Still...super close in sound. A "dry" version would've been cool to compare with.

I have the ART PRO ane the WA Bus Comp and I love then both. I use the WA Bus comp as a dedicated Mix bus comp and dial it in for each song as needed. I use the ART PRO VLA Comp as needed for Vocals, and instruments. They are excellent. I also have the FMR RNC 1173 which is a great stereo compressor for a small price to pay. I got mine from Reverb and I was suprised by it. I use it if when I want to apply double compression with another compressor. 👍

Sounds like there's more on there than just a G-Comp to me, hard to to tell exactly what it's doing. However when comparing audio gear, a .01% increase in quality is a big step! So keep that in mind.

Damn, anyone know of a Mac program that can do what SDSE does? I have Parallels and am taking a look at the SDSE evaluation version. I don't see an area to change the destination it pulls the samples from. All of my drums VSTs are stored externally.

Thank you so much for giving me some real validation on edrums. We all buy lots of musical gagets and want to plug in and play the factory presets. When we run out of good factory settings, it's time for a new kit...Right?? Wrong. Your video puts it out there perfectly. If you want a good gigging kit that works for you, start doing some deep clicking on the module and get it down. This saved me from buying another Ekit. I really do not need more than my Alesis Strike Pro SE and the ATV set. Thanks again.

But I wouldn’t use my VLA in my busses. It’s muddy for rock and too slow/pumpy for edm. I prefer the warm for mastering anything fast or bass heavy.

I love this video. I have both comps and would never think to compare them. I wouldn’t know where to start. You summed it up well. I will add that using a frequency analyzer that the Art vla pro ii adds a boost in the 100-65hz range. On average 6db on my unit with no compression happening. The warm does not do this naturally. I have them both placed after my pair of eqp. So either my eq reacts wildly different between the two or the art adds an eq color

What settings affect when a drum pad is overhitting?

Hi, i have the blackstar HT 20 studio head. Can I use the fx send without any real cabinet connected? Will that be safe. Iam unsure if the internal load is being used when no real cab OR the emulated cable are connected.

I know that it can import two layers, and a and a B, but can those layers have several velocities of their own and be used for round robin? Worked for me! Do you know how to boost the auxiliary volume when playing along with other music? I got the kit volume up with your method but I have my iPhone plugged into the aux input in the back and have the knobs maxed out but still quiet.
